Carolina Sunset

Bourbon · Hibiscus · Lime · Honey Ginger

A nod from Philly to Charlotte — Southern bourbon meets tropical hibiscus, finished with a sunset-pink float.

Ingredients

  • 2 oz Black-owned bourbon (we love Brough Brothers)
  • 1 oz fresh hibiscus tea, chilled
  • 0.75 oz fresh lime juice
  • 0.5 oz honey-ginger syrup
  • Dash of orange bitters
  • Edible orchid & dehydrated pineapple

Method

  1. 1Add bourbon, lime, honey-ginger syrup, and bitters to a shaker with ice.
  2. 2Shake until well chilled, about 12 seconds.
  3. 3Double-strain into a chilled coupe.
  4. 4Slowly float the chilled hibiscus tea over the back of a bar spoon for a sunset gradient.
  5. 5Garnish with an orchid and pineapple. Serve immediately.
